Our name comes from the history behind Alex’s last name, Wenzel. It’s a German name derived from King Wenceslas Ⅱ–a man who happens to be the patron saint of brewers. King Wenceslas’ most notable action was to ignite a brewing revolution in the 1200’s by convincing the Pope to revoke a ban that prevented his Czech people from brewing beer. To honor his legacy, Alex replaced the tails of the two-tailed rampant lion from the Czech coat of arms with two stalks of barley. The adaptation of that symbol is the origin for our name, Lion’s Tail Brewing Company.

While we’re best known for the beer and seltzers we brew, our Neenah taproom does offer a few varieties of wine, liquor, gluten-free options, non-alcoholic beer, soda, and juice. Our Wauwatosa taproom offers the same except there are no wine or liquor options available.

We do not have a full kitchen, but we offer a few snack items at each location. We have a Parker John’s BBQ ordering kiosk and Flourchild Frozen Pizza in Neenah, and Sendik’s in Tosa along with an on-site food truck to provide convenient yet delicious food to our customers. Customers are also welcome to carry-in their own food–no beverages though.

Well-behaved and LEASHED dogs are welcome on our outdoor patio areas in Neenah and Wauwatosa. Please do not bring your four-legged friends inside the taprooms.

We would love to host your gathering! Each location has areas that are available to reserve for events, so please email [email protected] for Neenah or [email protected] for Tosa to ask about availability and pricing. Be sure to include what the event is for, how many people are expected, and the date and time you’d prefer. We DO NOT rent out any of our spaces on Wednesdays, Fridays, or Saturdays.

Yes! We have outdoor seating available at both locations, but it is on a first come, first serve basis only.

People under the age of 21 are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a legal guardian who is over the age of 21.

We recommend keeping our beer refrigerated if possible to maintain the integrity of the flavor, but we understand that it isn’t always possible. Any beer that must be kept cold to prevent cans from bursting are specifically labeled.
